Di era AI, kata pakar salesman is DEAD.

“In the digital era, salesman will be COMMODITIZED,” begitu kata pakar. Kenapa?

+ Karna di Tokopedia atau Shopee konsumen milih produknya sendiri (self-shopping), tanpa perlu salesman.

+ Karna di berbagai socmed konsumen lebih percaya kepada FRIENDS ketimbang salesman.

+ Bahkan dengan kehadiran Alexa cs, nantinya robot AI dgn presisi memberikan rekomendasi produk ke konsumen. Sekali lg, tanpa perlu salesman.

Tapi saya tak percaya “salesman is dead“. Kenapa?

Karena seharusnya sebelum membeli produk, konsumen pertama-tama “MEMBELI” si SALESMAN:

+ Membeli KARAKTER si salesman
+ Membeli KOMITMEN si salesman
+ Membeli KEJUJURAN si salesman
+ Membeli PELAYANAN si salesman
+ Membeli TRUST si salesman

Saya percaya GREAT PARADOX, bahwa:

+ The more DIGITAL, the more EMOTIONAL.
+ The more HIGH TECH, the more HIGH TOUCH.
+ The more VIRTUAL connection, the more HUMAN connection.

Di sinilah peran dasar salesman TAK akan tergantikan, yaitu mengisi “ruang” EMOTIONAL, HIGH TOUCH, dan HUMAN connection dlm setiap transaksi n proses penjualan.

So, klo Anda adl salesman hebat n tak ingin profesi Anda TERDISRUPSI oleh teknologi, maka pegang satu prinsip ini:

“Customer buy YOU first,
BEFORE your product.”
