Prospective Businesses for UKM

Saya sering mengatakan bahwa UKM adalah sektor yang paling cepat jatuh oleh krisis COVID-19. Namun, UKM adalah juga sektor yang paling cepat bangkit. 

Lho kok bisa?

Cepat jatuh karena memang tabungan yang dimiliki UKM super minim. Begitu omset seret, nggak usah menunggu setahun, sebulan saja bisa langsung nyungsep. 

Namun juga cepat bangkit, kenapa? Karena overhead UKM ramping. Sehingga begitu terhempas oleh COVID-19, maka UKM bisa lebih agile untuk melakukan diversifikasi atau bahkan berganti bisnis (pivot) dibandingkan bisnis besar. 

Saya mencoba mengumpulkan dan memetakan bisnis-bisnis yang prospektif untuk UKM di masa-masa krisis pandemi maupun saat badai pandemi lewat (lihat bagan). 

Your Choices are still in existing business, diversifying, or even pivoting

Harapannya peta ini akan membantu para pelaku UKM untuk mengembangkan horison dengan masuk ke bisnis-bisnis yang bakal survive selama krisis atau bisnis-bisnis yang boom pasca pandemi. 

Kalau Anda lihat sebaran bisnis-bisnis di dalam matriks tersebut, maka untuk simple-nya saya bagi menjadi 3 klaster (lingkaran).

Lingkaran kiri atas adalah bisnis-bisnis yang prospektif untuk survive di masa krisis pandemi. Sementara dua lingkaran yang di kanan adalah bisnis-bisnis UKM yang prospektif di masa pasca pandemi.

So, pilihan bagi pelaku UKM cuma tiga: 

#1. Bertahan di existing business ketika memang masih menjanjikan. 

#2. Melakukan diversifikasi ke bisnis-bisnis yang terkait. 

#3. Terpaksa pivot ketika bisnis yang digeluti mati suri dihempas pandemi.
