Dengerin CD kompilasi terbaru Return to Forever (beken dikenal sebagai “RTF”) bertitel The Anthology ini kita seperti diajak bersafari menelusuri detail kejayaan super group di masa-masa awal keemasan jazz rock tahun 1970-an. Tak ada personil baru di situ, tak ada material baru di situ, tapi justru ini kekuatan CD kompilasi ini: “sejarah memang jarang bisa diulang”. “Hymn of the Sevent Galaxy”, “Captain Senor Mouse”, “The Romantic Warrior”, Celebration Suite Part I & II” menjadi begitu beraura oleh sentuhan tangan midas dedengkot kelompok ini: Chick Corea (Founder, Keybord), Stanley Clarke (Electric Bass), Al Di Meola (Electric Guitar), Lenny White (drum).
Album ini mengkompilasi empat album bersejarah yang pernah dibikin kelompok ini: “Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy”, “Where Have I Known You Before”, “No Mystery” and “Romantic Warrior”, yang sekaligus mengiringi konser reuni mereka di daratan Amerika-Eropa sepanjang tahun 2008 ini. “It’s been a long time coming,” kata Chick Corea sang pendiri mengenai konser Amerika-Eropa mereka, “and I think it’s going to be a blast! We plan to take the songs from the albums we made in the ’70s and just play them like they’ve never been played before.”
